Crystal Abbott, age 42, a lifelong resident of Ansonia, entered eternal rest on April 28, 2024, at Grifin Hospital in Derby following a long illness.
Crystal was born on December 27, 1981, daughter of Laura Jean Shaw Abbott of Ansonia and the late Victor H. Abbott Jr. She was a graduate of the former Ripton School in Shelton. Crystal liked to talk and socialize which made her great at her job as a door greeter for both Walmart and Target. She was born with spina bifida but never let that interfere with her life. Crystal was always upbeat, positive, happy, and super friendly. She cared deeply for people and was always the first to help with anything they needed. Crystal enjoyed Robotics, especially during her school years. Her hobbies included fishing at Osbornedale Park in Derby and cooking. She was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and UCONN women’s basketball. Crystal will be missed by all.
In addition to her mother Laura Jean, Crystal leaves to cherish her memory, her sister, Jennifer Young of Wilton, niece and nephew, Cody and Amanda Haskins, several aunts, and uncles, especially Charlene Gallant and her husband Phillip of Naugatuck along with many cousins and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Anthony Walker for his kind care and help with Crystal throughout the years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside funeral service on Friday, May 10, 2024, at 1:00 pm, meeting directly at Pine Grove Cemetery, 15 Church Street in Ansonia, with Pastor Eric Gramse officiating.
